La polmonite necrotizzante (PN) è una complicanza grave della polmonite. Riportiamo il caso di un bambino giunto in PS per febbre e tosse. La radiografia del torace ha mostrato un quadro suggestivo per PN, confermato alla TC. È stata avviata terapia antibiotica con buona risposta clinica. Dopo 1 mese abbiamo riscontrato parametri ridotti nelle prove di funzionalità respiratoria. Dopo 6 mesi alla RMN persisteva una componente flogistica. Nella PN la terapia antibiotica è efficace, ma è raccomandato il follow up.

Necrotizing pneumoniae (NP) occurs infrequently in children. A 8 years old male presented with fever and cough; a right upper lobe consolidation suggestive for NP was found at chest x-ray, confirmed at CT. The patient required antibiotic therapy with a good clinical response. After 1 month we found reduced lung function tests (LFTs) parameters. After 6 months MRI detected a peribronchial inflammation. In NP prolonged antibiotic therapy is effective; however long term follow-up is recommended.
